While their almond shape is pleasant, it is the color of Aemilia's eyes that makes them so stand-out. Something that is considered rare in the Vandeviere bloodline, Aemilia is host to a pair of bright, gunmetal-blue eyes that seem to look through people rather than at them.

Skin Tone:
Her skin is very pale, unblemished, there is nothing out of the ordinary at first glance; when Aemilia steps into direct sunlight or is around other angels, one can make out the rune-like marks running along her entire upper body. If she were to wear a short skirt, one could also see them spiraling down her legs.

Her hair is naturally a dark, rich auburn. Her hair varies in length though currently she has got it worn just at her shoulders or a little bit lower, in loose waves or curls.

As they are still relatively new, Aemilia's wings are ultra sensitive to motion and pressure. Even slight touches can cause them pain.

History:

Aemilia's history begins long before her birth.
A long time ago, there was only darkness. And in this darkness dwelled monsters who shied from the light; they were called Enepsi. A race of bright warriors heard of the Enepsi and traveled far from their world to battle them. The war was long, light against dark, and many of the warriors were slain. In the end, when they vanquished the monsters, there were one hundred left alive, and these hundred were the godstars, who brought light to the universe; they made the rest of the stars, including our sun, and there was no more darkness but instead endless light. They made children in their image – seraphim – and sent them down to bear their light on the world.
For a long time, there was no pain, no sin, nothing that could possibly ruin the world. There were only seraphim – the first angels. However, some of these angels were not as innocent as they had first seemed. A small group banned together and called themselves ‘The Seven Stars’, a devious group led by none other than Lucifer’s daughter. She knew that while angels were not able to physically harm humans at this time, they were still able to take the form of animals and communicate with them. It was through this that she took form of a serpent in the Garden of Eden and tricked the first man and woman into eating from the tree of knowledge that would ruin their innocence and ignorance forever.

The Beginning
A long time ago, an angel was created out of stardust and ash with the intent of one day fighting in the ongoing war between the Enoch and the Underworld. Created with a beauty nearly unfathomable to any human, the angel was a sight to bestow from the first moment of her existence. She was the perfect model of strength, intelligence, and integrity for all of her brethren to look upon.
This angel – given the name Enepsigos by the Elders of Enoch – was sent down to the Earth in infancy in the form of a blazing comet which soared through the night sky one cold Winter morning. Upon the angels arrival to Earth she inhabited the body child who had been born dead, where she would learn and grow, adapting to human life until she reached the end of her dormant period.

The Child
The angel – called Aemilia during her time on Earth – was brought into a beautiful aristocratic life of luxury. She was born to parents of great wealth and status; they were known for their charm and great beauty which never failed to attract guests to their grand mansion. As the youngest child of two she was pampered, and adored by many in her infancy. During her toddler years Aemilia clung to her father, never letting him out of her sight. Her mother grew jealous, for she was a spoiled woman, and tried her best to separate the two, but to no avail.

Sadly, like most pleasant families, bad luck found its’ way into their home.
Aemilia was only nine years old when she watched her mother being dragged away, never to return, from their small home in Prague, and since then things haven’t been the same. Being the second child of a wanted fugitive, the life she lived was far from innocent.
Her father grew increasingly interested in the human psyche after his wife went mad, and so he isolated his daughter for a series of tests. There was limited contact between Aemilia and from the age of eleven and onwards, her childhood was completely lonely one.

The Becoming

When the oldest of the Vandieviere siblings became a popular political figure, now-seventeen year old Aemilia was released from her binds. The world knew about the Vandievier daughter and her father feared that what he had done would catch wind with the public. Still, Aemilia was the black-sheep of the family, struggling with the secrets whispered to her in her sleep.
The dysfunctional family moved to Brooklyn for a new start, but eventually, the fights between the three escalated to a whole new level as her father grew increasingly violent. She was at a fancy house party in Brooklyn when she blacked out.

The Aftermath

The memories of the events taking place before the episode left in her is very little, being capable to remember few bits of who she once was, but she has been haunted by morbid flashbacks, which she insists are just trauma-induced nightmares brought on by the strange new markings on her skin and the near unbearable pain between her shoulderblades. Her sanity was put to the test as she began to struggle with her new-found abilities, ultimately stopping her life and coaxing her into hiding for an indefinite amount of time.

~~~
Around the world, over a space of days, a plague of black handprints appeared above countless doors, each seared deep into wood or metal.
First Nairobi
Then Tokyo
St. Petersburg
Paris
Los Angeles
A handful of other cities.
It was the beginning of the end.
There were few witness’ to the events which took place, but no one believed what they claimed to have seen.
“With his bare hand…”
“She didn’t have wings, but her shadow did…”
“He just put his hand here and it glowed and smoked!”
“Her eyes were like fire…”
“Sparks rained down as they flew away.”
So it was in slum alleys and dark courtyards in Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, San Francisco, Prague. Beautiful men and women with distorted shadows came and scorched their handprints onto doors before vanishing skyward, drafts of heat billowing from behind them with the whumph of unseen wings. Here and there, feathers fell, and they were like tufts of white fire, disintegrating to ash as soon as they touched the ground. In Delhi, a Sister of Mercy reached out to catch one in her palm like a snowflake, but unlike a snowflake it burned and left the perfect outline of a feather seared into her flesh.
“Angel,” she whispered, relishing the pain.
